Adventures Across the Eurasian Steppe

Have you ever come across something where you thought to yourself “Yes! I HAVE to do that!”?

This happened to me the other day. I was listening to an incredibly fascinating podcast about a young Australian – Tim Cope – who rode horseback from Mongolia to Hungary across the Eurasian Steppe in the footsteps of Genghis Khan. The odyssey took him 3.5 years to achieve and along the way he dealt with all manner of challenges including horse thieves, Russian bureaucracy, almost starving, romance and death.

This is exactly the kind of adventure I love and crave!

Have a look at the book he wrote: On the Trail of Genghis Khan: An Epic Journey Through the Land of the Nomads chronicling this incredible trip where he details leaving Karakorum in Mongolia as a novice horse rider and  riding through Kazakhstan, Russia, Crimea and the Ukraine to the Danube River in Hungary.

Talk about thought provoking, inspirational and incredible!
